Getting to Meribel

Travel by plane

Most of our guests choose to fly to the Alps. We are well served by the four local airports listed below that an array of airlines fly into. It is worth bearing in mind that whilst the transfer times from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble airports are about the same Lyon and Grenoble are actually further away distance-wise with the routes predominantly on toll-roads making transfers more expensive.

  • Chambery (1 hour transfer)
  • Geneva (2 hour transfer)
  • Lyon (2 hour transfer)
  • Grenoble (2 hour transfer)
  • Travel by car

Travelling by car to Meribel can often be the most convenient and economical way for groups and families. Meribel is approximately 600 miles from Calais ferry port and you can travel almost all of the way by motorway or express dual carriageway. The tolls cost around 75 Euros each way and there is free, private parking at both chalets.

Via Michelin is the best site for directions. For your destination (enter "73550") and select "Savoie: Les Allues". The better route is via Reims rather than Paris.

Chalet St Joseph is located on the left hand side of Route Saint Joseph in Les Allues as you come through the village past the Place du Four and Route du Pre de la Coeur junction. Find us on Google Maps.

To get to Chalet Les Cabris and apartment Le Petit Cabri turn right just after you pass the Chaumiere restaurant on your left up Route des Carons (signposted Eglise St Martin), then turn immediately right again. Les Cabris is 20 metres up the road straight in front of you.

    Travel by snow train

Probably the most eco-friendly way to get to resort. Meribel is served by Moutiers train station, just 20 minutes away from our chalets.

Leave London St. Pancras or Ashford International on Friday evening to arrive in Meribel on Saturday morning ready to ski or take the day train leaving St. Pancras around 9.30am on Saturday to be in resort in time for dinner. Contact us for transfer quotes from Moutiers station.

Useful websites include: Eurostar, Rail Europe and Snow Carbon.

    Travel by overnight coach

Ski Meribel operates coaches from London to Meribel.

Leaving London Victoria at 4pm every Friday during the season you can stretch out and relax in comfort, arriving in resort on Saturday morning. The coach departs the following Saturday at 5.30pm meaning you get 8 full days on the snow! They offer great prices too.

    Airport transfers

    Private Transfers

The most hassle-free way of getting direct to / from the resort and airport. Often be the most cost effective way to travel if there are 6+ people in your party travelling together.

On a first come first served basis we can offer air or rail transfers for up to 8 people at a time for a competitive rate. Please enquire at time of booking. If we aren't able to provide your transfer we recommend:

  • My Mountain Transfers
  • Meribel Transfers
  • Unique Holidays
  • Three Vallee Transfers
  • Shared Transfers

Good value for money and usually more economical when 1-3 people are travelling. We recommend:

  • Three Vallee Transfers
  • Public bus services

Follow the links to buses to Meribel from:

  • Geneva
  • Lyon
  • Chambery
  • Airport car hire

Booking a car at any of the local airports is fairly straightforward. We recommend that you pre-book in advance. Don't forget to order snow chains/request a 'winter pack' just in case! If flying into Geneva we recommend booking a car on the Swiss side (rather than the French) as it is less hassle and an easier drive (on the Swiss motorway) to and from resort.
